ARC is Bringing No-Cost Solar and Roof Upgrades to 32-Home Community Through Illinois Programs
Hickory Meadows residents will receive rooftop solar and new roofs at no cost through Illinois Solar for All and the Home Repairs and Upgrades Initiative

Centralia, IL - June 2025
ARC (Advanced Renewable Concepts) has announced its latest project in the Hickory Meadows neighborhood, where 32 single-family homes will receive rooftop solar systems and new roofs at no cost to participants. This effort is made possible through the Illinois Solar for All (ILSFA) program and the Home Repairs and Upgrades Initiative.
ARC’s in-house team is managing the full process, from assessment and design to permitting, installation, and final activation.
“This project represents what solar should be about: access, reliability, and long-term benefit,” said Energy Advisor for the project, Erik Schultz. “By upgrading roofs and installing clean energy systems at the same time, we’re not just lowering utility costs. We’re strengthening homes and investing in community infrastructure.”
The 32 homes are income-eligible, individually metered, and connected to the Ambridge utility network. In addition to a new roof, each participant will receive a solar system designed for their specific home, backed by ARC’s performance guarantees and system monitoring for zero cost.
This project reflects ARC’s mission to expand equitable access to renewable energy while improving housing stability and long-term resilience in the communities we serve.
